Air Tanzania suspends flights to Moscow over security risks — The Moscow Times
Air Tanzania has temporarily suspended flights between Tanzania's capital and Moscow over security concerns after Ukraine warned of the dangers of flying in Russian airspace due to nighttime drone attacks. The Moscow Times reports.
Refunds or rebooking
In a statement, Air Tanzania emphasized that safety always takes priority over commercial considerations. The company decided to suspend flights after a scheduled risk assessment on the route.
The carrier promised passengers affected by the cancellation a full refund or free rebooking. Air Tanzania later said that flights to and from Moscow are planned to resume on Monday next week.

The route was launched two months ago
Air Tanzania's direct flights to Moscow's Vnukovo International Airport were launched two months ago. At the same time, Vnukovo Airport's website still listed one Air Tanzania arrival flight and one departure flight for Saturday.
On Wednesday, the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation, an aggressor state, said that civil aviation authorities are working with the military to prevent significant disruptions to domestic air travel following the Ukrainian warning. Russian President Vladimir Putin called the warning “an act of state terrorism” which, he said, was intended to disrupt potential peace talks that are de facto frozen.
Turkish Pegasus Airlines also announced on Wednesday that it had cancelled some flights to Russia, citing technical and operational reasons without further explanation.
