Situation in Yemen

Since April 2022, Yemen had maintained relative calm after nearly 12 years of war between government forces backed by a Saudi Arabia-led coalition and the Houthis. The Houthis have controlled the capital, Sanaa, and a large part of the country since 2014.

According to the agency, the recent resumption of hostilities has heightened fears of a return to full-scale conflict in Yemen.
