Babiš publicly backed Orbán ahead of the Hungarian elections
Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babiš has openly expressed his support for Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán ahead of parliamentary elections that could prove decisive for him.
Babiš announced this on social media platform X.
The Czech prime minister stated that Orbán “has always fought for a stronger Europe” and defended Hungary’s national interests.
“He has always fought for a stronger Europe based on peace, the sovereignty of member states, and competitiveness. He has always defended Hungarian citizens and Hungary’s national interests. In turbulent times, choosing stability and proven leadership is more important than ever,” Babiš wrote.
In response, Viktor Orbán thanked him for the support, stating that “in times of challenge, strong states and strong leaders must stand together.”
At the same time, Babiš’s post sparked a strong reaction in the Czech Republic—social media users widely criticized the statement, accompanying it with jokes and photo collages.
Earlier this week, U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance also expressed political support for Orbán, and U.S. President Donald Trump spoke remotely at a rally in Hungary.
Prior to this, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, on the eve of the parliamentary elections, spoke about the risks to the country should he lose power.
As a reminder, despite Orbán’s opposition, Ukraine will receive 90 billion: IPA President Galina Heylo on the EU’s plans to finance the country.
Balázs Orbán, political director to Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, assured that Ukraine does not pose a military threat to his country.
