Biden has filed a lawsuit against the U.S. Department of Justice over recordings of private interviews
Former U.S. President Joe Biden has filed a lawsuit against the U.S. Department of Justice in an effort to block the release of recordings and transcripts of his private conversations with author Mark Zvonitzer, who helped him work on his memoir.
This was reported by The Washington Post.
The lawsuit alleges that the Justice Department’s decision to hand over the materials to Congress and a conservative think tank violates obligations to protect confidential personal information.
The case involves interviews from 2016–2017 that the Justice Department obtained as part of an investigation into Biden’s handling of classified documents. At the time, Special Counsel Robert Hur did not bring criminal charges against the former president.
Donald Trump claimed that the massive financial aid to Ukraine during Joe Biden’s tenure was allegedly one of the reasons why the war is still ongoing. He also sharply criticized NATO allies, particularly European countries, and once again questioned the effectiveness of their support for the U.S. in international conflicts.
The son of former U.S. President Joe Biden, Hunter Biden, has left the U.S. due to $17 million in debt, the Daily Mail reports, citing documents from his lawyer. According to the documents, Biden resides abroad, is considered “insolvent,” and is unable to pay legal bills, some of which exceed $50,000.
