The White House has denied Iranian claims regarding a memorandum with the United States
The White House has dismissed reports by Iranian state media regarding the alleged drafting of a joint memorandum of understanding. Officials in Washington called these claims “a complete fabrication” and stated that the information being circulated is untrue.
This was reported with reference to CNN.
The White House urged people not to trust reports from Iranian sources, emphasizing the importance of relying solely on facts, and called the “released” document a complete fabrication.
Earlier, Iranian state media published reports claiming that the document allegedly confirmed the withdrawal of U.S. military forces from Iran’s borders and the lifting of the naval blockade of the country’s ports. Although certain points in these reports echoed previous comments by U.S. officials, Washington’s position remains different. The U.S. side noted that Donald Trump would agree to lift restrictions on the ports only on the condition that Tehran ensures the unimpeded passage of commercial vessels through the Strait of Hormuz.
White House spokesperson Olivia Vales, commenting on the Iranian television statements, confirmed the successful progress of the negotiation process and reiterated the clear red lines set by the American leader. According to her, Donald Trump will sign only an agreement that serves the interests of U.S. citizens and completely prevents Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons.
