The first shipment of K2 tanks from South Korea has arrived in Poland

The first batch of 28 South Korean K2 tanks has arrived in Poland under the second implementation agreement with South Korea. The total number of such vehicles in the Polish Army has now risen to 208.

The new shipment is part of a contract to supply 180 K2 tanks. Meanwhile, Poland has already completed the delivery of 180 K2GF tanks under the first agreement. In 2026–2027, the country is set to receive another 116 K2GF tanks, bringing the total to 296.

Poland is also preparing to transition to a localized version, the K2PL. By the end of the decade, the country plans to receive 64 of these tanks and 81 support vehicles based on the same platform.

Three K2PL tanks will be manufactured in South Korea at Hyundai Rotem facilities, while another 61 tanks will be assembled in Poland at the Zakłady Mechaniczne Bumar-Łabędy plant. Deliveries are scheduled for 2028–2030.

Poland will also establish production of logistical support vehicles, engineering tanks, and self-propelled bridges, as well as create facilities for the maintenance and repair of the equipment.
