Putin's daughters will headline the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum for the third year in a row
Putin’s daughters, Maria Vorontsova and Katerina Tikhonova, will attend the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) for the third consecutive year.

On June 3, Vorontsova will personally moderate the discussion “Career Guidance and Mentoring in Medicine: Experience, Best Practices, and the Future,” where a draft law on mandatory internships for medical school graduates in healthcare facilities will be discussed.
Tikhonova, who heads the company “Innopraktika,” will join the session “The Nation’s Engineering Code: Restore or Rewrite?” via video link. Participants will discuss the shortage of engineering personnel and ways to enhance the profession’s prestige.
In 2025, Tikhonova also spoke at the SPIEF remotely, while Vorontsova participated in discussions on biotechnology and “human enhancement.” Both of Putin’s daughters first participated in the forum simultaneously in 2024.
As the publication notes, in recent years, the SPIEF has increasingly become a platform for the children and relatives of high-ranking Russian officials to speak, rather than for international investors, heads of multinational companies, and world leaders.
A delegation from North Korea is also expected at this year’s forum. In addition, regional booths will be featured, including a platform for the Astrakhan region and a booth for the so-called “DPR,” aimed at potential investors.

Putin has authorized the army to invade other countries to free Russians who have been imprisoned there.
