Solomiya, the daughter of renowned Ukrainian journalist Myroslava Gongadze, married Douglas Klein, an American expert in international politics

The wedding ceremony took place this weekend in the capital of the United States—Washington, D.C. 

The newlyweds officially tied the knot on Saturday. According to the bride’s mother, during the celebrations, the couple observed important national traditions that connect them to their homeland. 

“On June 6, they stood on a towel embroidered by Solomiya’s grandmother, Olga Petryshyn,” the journalist shared these touching details of the ceremony.

The newlyweds are united not only by romantic feelings but also by a deep commitment to a common cause related to helping the Ukrainian state. 

Both lovers are actively involved in international relations and supporting humanitarian projects. 

“They were brought together by their love for each other and for Ukraine. They share common values, professional interests, friendship, and a belief that everyone can contribute to a better world,” emphasized Myroslava Gongadze.

Currently, the couple is successfully building their careers in American and international institutions. Solomiya implements large-scale charitable programs, while her partner focuses on the defense and diplomatic spheres. 

“Solomiya works at the international philanthropic foundation Hillspire, specifically leading Ukrainian initiatives. Douglas is my colleague on Capitol Hill; he deals with issues of international policy and security, and has been advocating for Ukraine’s interests for many years,” noted the bride’s mother.

Myroslava Gongadze herself officially announced the landmark family event and her daughter’s marriage on her social media page.
