Egypt gives Ethiopian Embassy adviser 48 hours to leave — Anadolu Agency

Egypt has declared an adviser at the Ethiopian Embassy in Cairo persona non grata and ordered him to leave the country within 48 hours. This was a response to Ethiopia’s decision to declare a diplomat at the Egyptian Embassy in Addis Ababa persona non grata, Anadolu Agency reports, citing the state-run MENA agency.

Cairo’s decision

A senior Egyptian official told MENA that Cairo regrets Ethiopia’s actions against the diplomat working at the Egyptian Embassy in Addis Ababa. According to him, Egypt rejects interference in the internal affairs of other states and does not comment on internal developments in Ethiopia and other countries in accordance with international law and the UN Charter.
