Estonia has decided not to close its border with Russia
Estonia currently has no plans to close its border with Russia, as the authorities believe there are no grounds for doing so. However, in the event of a threat to national security, such a decision could be made immediately.
This was stated by Estonian Interior Minister Igor Taro.
According to him, tourists with Russian passports have not been allowed to cross the border for quite some time. Most of those crossing the border are Russian citizens with residence permits in EU countries or dual citizenship, as well as people traveling for humanitarian reasons.
The minister also noted that border guards continue to detect attempts to illegally transport sanctioned goods from Russia.
