Hunter Biden calls situation in Gaza akin to genocide — Jerusalem Post
In the United Kingdom, Hunter Biden, the son of former U.S. President Joe Biden, said in an interview with LBC radio station that the situation in the Gaza Strip resembles genocide. He also criticized Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the Likud party government, the Jerusalem Post reports.
Criticism of the Israeli government
In an interview on Tonight with Andrew Marr, Biden said he opposes Netanyahu, the Likud government, and their actions in Gaza, the West Bank, and Lebanon. According to him, the term “genocide” is loaded, but he considers it appropriate to characterize Netanyahu’s intentions.
Biden also said that, in his view, the Israeli prime minister’s policies have affected the safety of Jews outside Israel. He expressed the belief that Netanyahu has made Jews around the world less safe than at any time since World War II and the Holocaust.

Claims about the October 7 attack
Separately, Biden mentioned Hamas’ October 7 attack and referred to a recent publication that was likely based on a book by Shlomi Eldar and Ruth Yuval. He claimed that people who studied those events allegedly knew about preparations for the attack and allowed it to happen in order to later carry out actions that otherwise would not have been approved.
During the interview, Biden provided no new evidence to support this claim. LBC also presented it in its publication as Biden’s statement rather than an established fact. At the same time, he called the October 7 attack terrible and said Hamas is a terrible organization.
Statements about Trump
Biden also criticized U.S. President Donald Trump over the war with Iran without congressional authorization. He said that if the House of Representatives comes under Democratic control, impeachment proceedings against Trump should, in his view, be initiated, and called the U.S. president an existential threat to the American constitutional republic, NATO, and the world.
