Qassem Soleimani threatens to sink U.S. ships — Al Jazeera
Mohsen Rezaei, a senior officer in the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and a member of Iran’s Expediency Council, stated that the country would “paralyze” the United States and “sink” its ships in the Arabian Gulf.
Al Jazeera reports this.
These threats came in response to warnings previously issued by U.S. President Donald Trump regarding possible strikes on Iranian infrastructure.
The Iranian general emphasized that Washington finds itself in a difficult situation, which he described as a “quagmire.”
According to Rezaei, the U.S. has limited time to avoid a large-scale escalation in the region.
“The final deadline for America’s salvation is approaching, and there isn’t much time left to pull the United States out of this quagmire,” the state news agency IRNA quoted Rezaei as saying.
As a reminder, the U.S. has set a date for the end of the war with Iran.
Also, the U.S. and Iran may hold talks in Islamabad as early as this week.
