Hulu to Release Documentary About Clown Panic in the US — Rolling Stone

Streaming platform Hulu will release the documentary Clown Panic on October 12 about a wave of reports of allegedly dangerous clowns that spread across the United States in the summer of 2016. The film was directed by Ed Perkins.

Rolling Stone reports on the upcoming premiere and the film’s trailer. According to the publication, it all began with a series of reports about the alleged appearance of clowns in Greenville County, South Carolina. These claims later escalated into panic, which was actively fueled by social media.

The Clown Panic trailer features interviews with people who said they had seen these characters. The film also includes reconstructions of scenes in which clowns hide in the woods or frighten drivers, as well as archival video.
