Iran has offered a reward for the killing or capture of U.S. military personnel
The Iranian military has announced a reward equivalent to 30,000 dollars for the killing or capture of American service members. For women who carry out such actions, the reward will be doubled, France 24 reports, citing the Iranian state news agency IRNA.
This was announced by Iranian Army Commander Amir Khatami. According to him, the plan was drawn up following a “large number of requests” from those wishing to participate. Khatami said that a payment of 5 billion tomans is offered for the killing or capture and handover of a U.S. service member to the Iranian Army.
The commander did not specify where or when the killings or captures of American military personnel might take place. He also reiterated Tehran’s demand for the withdrawal of U.S. forces from the Middle East and stated that the U.S. “no longer has permission” to enter the Persian Gulf, the Gulf of Oman, or the Strait of Hormuz.

According to France 24, since the start of the conflict between Tehran and Washington—which began on February 28 following a U.S.-Israeli attack on Iran—there have been no reports of U.S. ground troops being deployed in the country. The exception was a rescue operation in April to evacuate an F-15 fighter jet weapons systems officer.
According to the publication, approximately 200 U.S. military personnel and more than 170 aircraft participated in this operation. Iranian forces damaged an A-10 attack aircraft, which made an emergency landing in friendly territory. The U.S. also reportedly left behind and destroyed some aircraft, including a C-130 transport plane.
After nearly 40 days of fighting, the war was suspended by an April ceasefire. In June, the parties agreed on a framework for peace talks, which subsequently fell through. Since then, Iran and the U.S. have periodically exchanged strikes, primarily in southern Iran and near the Strait of Hormuz. Since the start of the war, 17 American service members have been killed, all outside Iran, including in Jordan and Iraq.
