Iran has rejected the U.S. proposal for a ceasefire
Iranian officials have rejected the U.S. proposal for a "framework" of a potential agreement to end the war.
This was reported by Iran’s Press TV, citing an unnamed senior official in Tehran.
According to the source, Iran’s leadership “will not allow Trump to dictate terms.”
“Iran will end the war when it decides to do so, and when its own conditions are met,” said the unnamed official, adding that Iran is determined to continue defending itself and delivering “serious blows” until its demands are met.
The source also said that the U.S. side had initiated contacts through various diplomatic channels.
He described the demands outlined in the “15 points” as “excessive and detached from reality, given the U.S. failures on the battlefield.”
Reuters, citing a senior Iranian official, reports that Tehran’s reaction to the U.S. proposals “was not positive” and that an initial response has already been conveyed to the U.S. via Pakistan.
The Iranian agency Fars, cited in the American media, also received a comment from an unnamed official in Tehran stating that Iran would not agree to such ceasefire conditions and “sees no point in initiating such a process with those who have violated agreements,” and that Tehran wants to “achieve its strategic goals” before agreeing to end the war.
