Iran Has Exported $18 Billion Worth of Oil During the Conflict with the U.S. — Al Jazeera
During the conflict with the United States and the subsequent ceasefire, Iran exported oil worth a total of approximately $18 billion, according to Mohsen Paknejad, the oil minister of the Islamic Republic.
According to the minister, during the hostilities that began on February 28, Iran sold $11.5 billion worth of oil, and after the ceasefire took effect, another $6.5 billion worth.
Paknejad noted that even at the height of the conflict, the country managed to secure more than 60% of the oil revenues projected in the annual budget.
He said that even before the fighting began, Iran had stockpiled about 100 million barrels of crude oil and gas condensate, which it subsequently managed to sell. The minister explained that a temporary reduction in risks to oil tanker traffic, despite the sanctions, contributed to an increase in exports and the sale of accumulated reserves.
At the same time, Paknejad did not specify which countries were purchasing Iranian oil. It is known that China remains the largest importer of Iranian oil.
