Iran will not reopen the Strait of Hormuz until seven Iranian conditions set out in a temporary agreement with the United States in June are met. This was stated on October 4 by Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, The Hindu reports, citing Nournews.
Iran’s conditions
According to Nournews, Ghalibaf described the Islamic Republic of Iran’s position on the Strait of Hormuz as clear and firm. He linked its reopening to the fulfillment of seven conditions specified in the temporary agreement between Tehran and Washington concluded in June.

Proposals through an intermediary
The statement came several days after Tehran received Washington’s response to its diplomatic proposal.
Ghalibaf also said that the United States, despite other statements in the media, recently conveyed proposals through an intermediary. According to him, the United States must understand that the period of delaying the process and putting forward unilateral demands has ended.
