Iran has denied any involvement in the attempted bombing of a U.S. air base in Britain
On September 28, the Iranian Embassy in London categorically denied the country’s involvement in an alleged terrorist plot uncovered near the Fairford Air Base in the United Kingdom. The diplomatic mission dismissed as baseless and malicious any speculation linking Tehran to this incident.
The incident occurred last weekend when law enforcement officials arrested five British citizens near the military facility and discovered homemade explosive devices in vans nearby. In its statement, the embassy emphasized that it categorically rejects and strongly condemns attempts to link Iran to this case, noting that such allegations are intended solely to fuel anti-Iranian propaganda in Britain.

In the United Kingdom, near the Royal Air Force Fairford airbase—which U.S. forces use for operations against Iran—five men were detained on September 27 with homemade explosive devices on suspicion of planning a terrorist attack. The operation was carried out following a report of three suspicious vans heading toward the military airfield in western England during the night.
U.S. President Donald Trump stated that the suspects allegedly planned to cause “significant harm” and were the subject of an investigation by British and American authorities. At the same time, British counterterrorism police have not publicly disclosed details about the men’s possible motives.
