An Iranian missile could have destroyed Israel's largest power plant
On Wednesday morning, an Iranian ballistic missile struck near the coastal city of Hadera in northern Israel. The strike targeted a local power plant, which is one of the largest in the country.
This was reported by The Times of Israel.
In the morning, air raid sirens sounded throughout central Israel and parts of the north. It is noted that this attack marked the fourth round of missile strikes by Iran against Israel.
According to preliminary military assessments, some of the missiles fired during this attack were likely intercepted by air defense systems. Rescue workers responded to reports of missile debris falling in several areas following the interceptions.
One of the missiles fell in an open area near Hadera, causing no injuries. Shortly thereafter, the Israel Electric Corporation stated that its infrastructure had not sustained any damage as a result of the attack.
Israel’s largest power plant, the Orot Rabin power plant, is located in Hadera.
Iran had previously threatened to strike power plants in Israel and throughout the Persian Gulf, and last week its attacks forced the Bazan oil refinery in Haifa to shut down.
