Italy will impose an additional fee on low-cost packages
Starting in October, Italy plans to introduce its own fee of 2 euros on international packages with a commercial value of up to 150 euros. This fee will be in addition to a similar duty already imposed by the European Union.
Italian Economy Minister Giancarlo Giorgetti announced the new measure. According to him, the national fee will be collected alongside the EU duty.
Since July 1, the European Union has already been imposing a 3-euro duty on parcels worth up to 150 euros arriving from third countries. These measures are intended to limit the mass import of cheap goods, primarily from China.

The Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has decided to expel two military attachés from the Russian Embassy in Rome. According to Italian officials, the diplomats are believed to be involved in espionage activities on behalf of Moscow.
As a reminder, a former intelligence officer was detained in Italy on suspicion of spying for Russia.
Following the arrest of the former Italian ambassador to Uzbekistan, Piergabriele Papadia de Bottini di Sant’Agnese, Italian visa centers in Russia introduced stricter rules for submitting applications for Schengen visas.
