Kaczyński claimed that Ukraine was attempting to drag Poland into a war with Russia
Polish politician Jarosław Kaczyński claimed that at the start of the full-scale invasion, Ukraine allegedly wanted to drag Poland into a war with Russia. According to him, Kyiv also sought to create a “unified state,” though Kaczyński did not specify exactly what steps the Ukrainian side was taking.
“It seems to me that at first they had a somewhat strange concept—to drag us into this war, even on the basis of creating a single state. Zelenskyy’s speech in the Sejm was precisely along these lines,” said the leader of the Polish Law and Justice party.
Kaczyński did not provide any evidence of the existence of such a plan on Ukraine’s part. Speaking about the possible role of Poland’s NATO membership, he himself noted that he was not certain of his assumptions and that, in his opinion, this issue should be clarified by historians.
