Kadyrov rarely appears in public and has stopped leaving Chechnya

Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov has significantly scaled back his public activities in recent months and has practically stopped traveling outside the region. The Russian media outlet “Mozhem Ob’yasnit” drew attention to this.

Although Kadyrov is set to be re-elected as head of the republic in September, he did not attend the United Russia convention, where Vladimir Putin spoke. Also, for the first time in nearly 20 years in power, he did not lead the Chechen faction of the party in the State Duma elections.

Kadyrov’s last publicly confirmed visit to Moscow took place at the end of April and beginning of May. Since then, his activities have been limited to Chechnya and have primarily involved inspecting construction and infrastructure projects.

According to media reports, these changes may be related to Kadyrov’s health. In recent videos, it is noticeable that he has had more difficulty moving around: during a visit to the construction site of an Islamic center, he walked while holding his cousin’s hand.

It was previously reported that Kadyrov may be looking for a successor. His eldest son, Akhmat, is named among the possible candidates after his other son, Adam, was involved in a car accident in Grozny.

This is being reported by Russian propaganda media.

Video: Putin called on the occupiers to follow the example of Akhmat Kadyrov, who could have been eliminated by the FSB.

As a reminder, portraits of Kadyrov’s son have begun to be hung alongside those of Putin in Chechnya.

Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov, despite public statements about training more than 70,000 fighters and his loyalty to the Kremlin, is in fact avoiding the mass mobilization of the republic’s residents for the war. A source within the Chechen leadership reported that the region has no intention of sacrificing its population for the sake of Russia’s interests.
