Canada will provide Ukraine with more than $30 million for veteran rehabilitation and reintegration programs. The funds will be used to support Ukrainian defenders after they complete their service.
This was announced by the office of Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney following a meeting with Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
“Canada will provide up to 40 million Canadian dollars to assist with the recovery, rehabilitation, and return to civilian life of Ukrainian veterans,” the statement said.
It was noted that Canada will provide an additional 23 million Canadian dollars (approximately 17 million U.S. dollars) to “strengthen Ukraine’s security architecture.” “This includes support for the police, the National Guard, the military, and communities near the front lines, as well as assistance in countering disinformation,” a spokesperson for Karni said.
Canada will also allocate 6 million Canadian dollars (about 4.5 million U.S. dollars) to “support Ukraine’s efforts to repatriate and reintegrate Ukrainian children who have been illegally deported and forcibly taken to Russia.”

As a reminder, Canada is training 21 Ukrainian pilots for combat aviation.
Canada will allocate approximately 350 million Canadian dollars, or about $253 million, to purchase American interceptor missiles for Ukraine’s air defense.
