ComfortDelGro consortium selected to operate Copenhagen Metro
The KBH Metro Partner consortium, which includes Singaporean transport company ComfortDelGro and French operator RATP Dev, has been selected to operate and maintain the Copenhagen Metro. The contract is worth 17 billion Danish kroner, or about S$3.4 billion, Channel NewsAsia reports.
The consortium was selected following an international competitive tender. The contract is expected to be signed in September after the completion of the legally mandated standstill period.
Contract term
The contract is for 12 years, until 2039, with an option to extend it for another three years. In addition to operating and maintaining the metro, KBH Metro Partner will support planned network modernization and renewal projects.
Channel NewsAsia asked ComfortDelGro about its stake in KBH Metro Partner and what portion of the contract value would go to the company.

Metro network
The Copenhagen Metro is an automated driverless system. It operates around the clock and has four lines, 44 stations and 43 km of tracks. In 2025, 135 million passengers used the network, a record figure for the metro.
For ComfortDelGro, this will be its second rail operation in Scandinavia after a contract to operate and maintain the Stockholm Metro. It is also the company’s third collaboration with RATP Dev on automated metro projects.
ComfortDelGro said that, including the Danish contract, the length of its rail networks in operation or being prepared for launch will exceed 420 km. Group Managing Director and CEO Cheng Siak Kian said the company’s experience in Singapore can be scaled for international markets.
