Kosha will embark on a tour of EU capitals to show support for Ukraine
On August 25, European Council President António Costa will begin a tour of EU capitals, where continued support for Ukraine will be one of the main topics. During the meetings, he will also discuss defense, Ukraine’s accession to the EU, and air defense.
The announcement states that the annual “Capital Tour” will allow Costa to gather the views of heads of state and government, with a particular focus on the next long-term EU budget.
As was the case last year, the meetings will help lay the groundwork for future European Council meetings and international summits.
“During the upcoming ‘Capital Tour,’ my discussions with European leaders will focus on defense, competitiveness, EU enlargement, and support for Ukraine. But, of course, special attention will be paid to the next long-term EU budget,” said Koshta.
The visits will take place from August 25 to September 17. Specifically, during the first week of his visit, Koshta will meet with Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico in Bratislava and with Estonian Prime Minister Krister Mihal in Tallinn on August 25.
On August 26, Koshta will visit Riga to meet with Latvian Prime Minister Andris Kulbergs, and will also travel to Vilnius to meet with Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda.
On August 27, as part of the first week of his visit, he will meet with Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babiš in Prague.
