The Kremlin plans to send 100,000 Armenians to vote against Pashinyan

In recent months, Russian officials have been discussing a plan to organize the travel of Armenian citizens residing in Russia to Armenia so that they can participate in the parliamentary elections and support the opponents of incumbent Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

This was reported by Reuters.

According to four sources cited by the agency, the plan involved approximately 100,000 voters. The estimated cost of transporting them was around $50 million. By mid-May, according to the sources, quotas had even been allocated in Russian regions, and local authorities were required to report on their preparations.

At the same time, Reuters journalists were unable to confirm whether this plan is being implemented in practice or whether it could significantly influence the election results.

Polls conducted in May show that Pashinyan’s “Civic Contract” party holds first place with approximately 30% support, while the opposition “Strong Armenia” party has about 6% and lags significantly behind.
