E5 leaders will gather in Berlin to discuss support for Ukraine
On June 24, Berlin will host a summit of the leaders of the E5 countries, which include Germany, the United Kingdom, France, Italy, and Poland. Ukraine will be one of the key topics of the meeting.
The E5 group brings together Europe’s largest nations in terms of defense capabilities and military spending. The group was established in 2024 to coordinate defense policy, standardize weaponry, and support joint security projects.
German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, and other leaders of the participating countries are expected to attend the meeting.

Earlier, the Norwegian government announced the allocation of 1.2 billion Norwegian kroner, equivalent to approximately 109 million euros, for the development and procurement of maritime drones for Ukraine.
As reported, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius began a working visit to Canada on Tuesday, with the main goal of convincing Ottawa to select the German manufacturer TKMS to supply 12 Type 212CD submarines as part of a 30-billion-euro project.
