Maria Bartiromo denies reports of dismissal from Fox
American television host Maria Bartiromo has denied reports that she was fired from Fox News and Fox Business. Her lawyer said that claims about the host’s dismissal or the termination of her employment at Fox are false, CNBC reports.
Lawyer’s statement
According to Bartiromo’s lawyer, the media outlets that circulated such reports showed disregard for the truth. He also said that he has evidence and witnesses that can be presented in court or otherwise.
A Fox News spokesperson did not provide CNBC with an immediate comment on Bartiromo’s lawyer’s statement on Friday.
Fox News statement
The day before, Fox News Media said that Bartiromo had parted ways with the company’s television channels. In a statement, the company thanked the host for 12.5 years of work and wished her success in the next stage of her career, without explaining the reasons for her departure.

After that, a number of media outlets reported that Bartiromo had allegedly been fired for violating corporate policy. The host herself rejected these claims through her lawyer.
Before joining Fox, Bartiromo was a CNBC host. On Fox Business Network, she hosted the daily program Mornings with Maria and the Friday show Maria Bartiromo’s Wall Street, while on Fox News she hosted Sunday Morning Futures.
Lawsuits over the 2020 election
Bartiromo was among the Fox News hosts mentioned in Dominion Voting Systems’ defamation lawsuit against Fox. The company accused the television channel of spreading false claims about Dominion’s alleged involvement in rigging the 2020 U.S. presidential election, in which Donald Trump lost to Joe Biden.
In 2023, Fox agreed to pay $787.5 million to settle the case. A similar lawsuit by Smartmatic USA is also ongoing, in which Bartiromo is a defendant.
