Ghana’s Finance Minister Cassiel Ato Forson said that the government’s New Economy programme is intended to stimulate local production, reduce the country’s dependence on imports and create new jobs. He said this during a meeting with officials of the Ministry of Finance in Accra, MyJoyOnline reports.

Produce more in Ghana

According to Forson, the government’s goal is to produce more goods in Ghana that are consumed in the country and create jobs for citizens. He noted that every imported product should prompt the state to develop opportunities for its production on the domestic market.
