Pakistani minister says significant progress made in talks with Iran
Pakistan and Iran have made significant progress during talks on the US and Israeli war against Iran and a possible path to peace. This was stated by Pakistani Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi after a Pakistani delegation visited Tehran, Channel NewsAsia reports, citing Reuters.
Talks in Tehran
Pakistan Army Chief Asim Munir took part in meetings with the Iranian leadership. According to the Pakistani military, the sides discussed measures to prevent further escalation, the opening of the Strait of Hormuz, and ending the conflict as soon as possible.
The Pakistani and Iranian sides also exchanged views on regional peace and the possibilities of reaching a settlement of the dispute through negotiations.

Statements by the sides
Naqvi, who accompanied Munir on the trip to Tehran, wrote on social media platform X that Iran's president had openly outlined his government's position. The minister also described the exchange of views on the issues discussed as constructive.
Before the visit to Tehran, Munir spoke with US President Donald Trump, Reuters reported. Last week, Trump warned of economic consequences for countries that would provide Iran with any support. Iran, for its part, said it intended to halt all oil exports from the Gulf region.
