The Czech Ministry of Defense has blocked the publication of an interview with the president — media reports

The Czech Ministry of Defense has prohibited the General Staff from releasing a prepared interview with President Petr Pavel. The ministry, headed by Jaromír Zuna, blocked its broadcast.

This was reported by the Aktuálně portal.

A special episode of the military podcast "Camouflage," filmed directly at Prague Castle, was produced in late March and was scheduled to be released on April 7. However, this has not yet happened. According to the publication, the reason is a rift between the government and the president.

“As I understand it, this is likely a consequence of the current rift between the government and the Castle. It is not appropriate for the army to feature Petr Pavel right now,” a high-ranking official from the Ministry of Defense told Aktuálně regarding why the publication of the interview had to be halted.

“This happened due to the intervention of the Ministry of Defense,” a military officer confirmed to Aktuálně. “They didn’t let us do it. What else can I say about this?” added another military official from the Central Command.

The interview with the president was conducted by Anežka Vrbíčová, spokesperson for the Office of the Chief of the General Staff. The army announced the special episode on social media with the following text: "On April 7, a unique interview with President Petr Pavel will be released. What can you expect? We discussed the current security situation that has shaken the world, but we also found time for more personal topics, such as the president’s favorite pastimes."

Defense Ministry spokesperson Petr Pešek explained why the interview with the president was not published, noting that this particular podcast episode was supposed to appear on the Czech Army’s new YouTube channel, which is currently under discussion within the ministry.

In the Czech Republic, officials and a businessman were exposed for fraud involving EU subsidies.

The Czech Republic is also improvingconditions for its companies operating in Ukraine.

Earlier in South Korea, a fraudster stole $12 million from 158 people, laundered the money using cryptocurrencies, underwent a series of plastic surgeries, and hid for nearly a year, changing his appearance and phone numbers. The case attracted the attention of law enforcement thanks to unique digital evidence.
