Modi calls for resolving conflicts through dialogue and diplomacy at SCO summit
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi said at the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation summit in Kyrgyzstan that wars and conflicts have no solution on the battlefield and must be settled through dialogue and diplomacy.

Modi also called on SCO countries to jointly counter terrorism. According to him, there can be no double standards in the fight against terrorism. As NDTV World reports, Modi's speech was delivered in the presence of Chinese President Xi Jinping, Russian President Vladimir Putin, the leader of the aggressor state, and Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

According to the outlet, the SCO summit is taking place amid the war in the Middle East, which has affected global energy supply chains and the economies of many countries. NDTV notes that Modi's remarks about terrorism were directed against Pakistan.
The outlet also links the Indian prime minister's statements to the killing of tourists in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, last year.
