Moldova has temporarily authorized Lukoil to operate due to the risk of a fuel shortage

Moldovan authorities have decided to temporarily lift the ban on Lukoil's operations due to the threat of a fuel shortage.

This was reported by the National Crisis Management Center.

The decision was made after a significant number of Lukoil-Moldova gas stations ceased operations, which could have affected the stability of fuel supplies.

Under the decision, the company was permitted to use available resources to replenish supplies at gas stations, particularly to ensure a supply of diesel fuel.

Authorities explained that this step is necessary to ensure uninterrupted access to fuel for citizens, as Lukoil’s share of the country’s market remains significant.

The Russian oil company Lukoil has signed an agreement with the American investment firm Carlyle Group to sell its international assets.

As a reminder, Kazakhstan wants to buy out Lukoil’s stake in energy projects.

Additionally, Russia’s Lukoil risks losing €14 billion due to the cancellation of the deal with Gunvor.
