63-year-old British tourist dies while diving in Cyprus — Cyprus Mail

A 63-year-old tourist from the United Kingdom died in the Pernera area of Ayia Napa, Cyprus, after feeling unwell during a dive. Cyprus Mail reported this, citing police.

Assistance was provided at the scene

According to police, the man was diving on Saturday at around 3:15 p.m. when he began to feel unwell. He was taken to a floating platform.

The diving instructor accompanying the man, together with lifeguards who were in the area, provided him with first aid. An ambulance crew was also called to the scene.

Police are establishing the circumstances

The man was later taken to Famagusta General Hospital, where medical staff continued resuscitation efforts. However, they were unable to save him, and doctors pronounced him dead.

The circumstances of the death are being investigated by the Ayia Napa police station.
