Rain expected in southeast Queensland — ABC News Australia
Cloudy and rainy weather is forecast in southeast Queensland, Australia, on Monday and Tuesday. As ABC News Australia reports, the Bureau of Meteorology expects sunny weather to return to the region from Wednesday.
Rainfall along the coast
Up to 15 millimetres of rain may fall on the Gold Coast. Up to 9 millimetres of rain is forecast for Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast. Meteorologist Bayden Gilbert explained that a southeasterly weather change will move along the coast from New South Wales.
It is expected to reach the Gold Coast around midday, Brisbane in the afternoon, and the Sunshine Coast in the evening. Rain may continue overnight but is expected to ease on Tuesday. Thunderstorms are also possible late on Monday on the Sunshine Coast.

Weather in other parts of the state
Townsville will be mostly dry, with a maximum temperature of 29 degrees Celsius. Rain is possible in Mackay at the start of the week, while mostly dry weather is forecast for Rockhampton and Bundaberg.
Sunny and hot weather is expected in Longreach and Mount Isa, with maximum temperatures ranging from 33 to 35 degrees. Rain is possible in Cairns throughout the week, with total rainfall of up to 5 millimetres, while temperatures will remain in the upper twenties.
