Polish Deputy Defense Ministers Cezary Tomczyk and Paweł Zalewski are traveling to the United States for talks on the U.S. military presence on Polish territory.
According to the publication, the visit is taking place at the request of Prime Minister Donald Tusk and Defense Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz.
The Polish side plans to convey to Washington its readiness to strengthen the American military presence, as well as to receive clear signals regarding the U.S.’s future plans for the contingent.
Deputy Defense Minister Cezary Tomczyk stated that he has no doubts about the strength of the Polish-American alliance and recalled assurances from the U.S. military command that discussions regarding troop redeployment do not concern Poland.
In addition, separate talks between the leadership of the Polish Ministry of Defense and representatives of the U.S. military command are scheduled for the coming days.
