Barry Mitchell, bassist for the band Queen, has died
Barry Mitchell, the former bassist for the legendary British band Queen, has died at the age of 76.
Mitchell was the second bassist in Queen’s history. He joined the band in August 1970 and remained a member until January 1971, after which John Deacon joined the group.
During his time with Queen, the musician played 13 concerts, mostly in the United Kingdom. It is believed that Mitchell wrote the bass parts for the songs “Liar” and “Son and Daughter.”
The musician’s death was announced by his family and band representatives. The cause of death has not yet been disclosed.
