An injured roe deer was rescued in Kyiv following shelling
In Kyiv, following an overnight shelling in the Osokorky district, rescuers found an injured roe deer that had hidden under a car in a panic. They managed to carefully remove the animal and transport it to the Wildlife Rescue Center, where it is currently receiving treatment.
Following yet another massive attack on the capital, rescuers from the Kyiv Animal Rescue Team made an unusual yet tragic discovery—a wounded roe deer that had ended up in Osokorky during the explosions and, in a panic, had hidden under a car. The frightened animal was disoriented and in need of immediate assistance.
KARG specialists carefully removed the roe deer from where it was hiding and immediately arranged for its transport to the Wildlife Rescue Center. There, veterinarians began examining and stabilizing the animal, which, according to preliminary assessments, had been injured during the explosions. “KARG rescuers helped retrieve the injured animal and transported it to the Wildlife Rescue Center,” the volunteers reported in their post.
The center notes that such cases, unfortunately, are becoming increasingly common, as wildlife is increasingly found near the danger zone during shelling of the city. Veterinarians are now doing everything possible to stabilize the roe deer’s condition and bring her back to life.
Volunteers emphasize that even during wartime, it is important not to neglect not only people but also animals, which suffer just as much from the consequences of attacks and often have no chance of survival without human help. This was reported by the Animal Rescue Team in Kyiv.
