Israeli Ambassador Comments on the Possible Extradition of Mindich and Zuckerman

Israel’s new ambassador to Ukraine, Roy Rosenblit, commented on the possible extradition of Timur Mindich and Alexander Zuckerman. Both are suspects in the NABU operation “Midas,” which concerns corruption in the energy sector.

In his first exclusive interview with Ukrainian media, Rosenblit stated that he has no information regarding specific Israeli or Ukrainian citizens, especially when it comes to legal proceedings.

“We, like Ukraine, are a state governed by the rule of law. If there are procedures, requests, or anything else related to a particular Israeli citizen, this should be handled in the proper manner by the relevant authorities, rather than being the subject of my public statements,” the ambassador said.

As a reminder, the High Anti-Corruption Court will consider the complaint regarding sanctions against Mindich under a simplified procedure.

The proposal to impose sanctions against businessmen Timur Mindich and Boris Zuckerman was approved at a government meeting and forwarded to the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine for consideration.

A standard sanctions package has been imposed on Timur Mindich and Alexander Zuckerman for a period of three years, while the revocation of their state awards is indefinite.
