The Iranian president thanked Putin for his inspiration in the war against the United States

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian thanked Vladimir Putin in Russian for his inspiration and assistance in the war against the United States.

He announced this on social media platform X on March 26. In his statement, the Iranian leader noted that the Russian president’s words and the support of the Russian people are inspiring Iran in the current conflict. Pezeshkian also expressed gratitude to the Russian government and people on behalf of the Iranians, emphasizing the importance of new ties for ensuring security in East Asia through the efforts of countries in the region.

In his post, Pezeshkian emphasized that the resistance and courage of the Iranian people, combined with Russia’s support, create conditions for strengthening regional stability. Notably, the statement was published on the X platform, which is officially blocked in both Iran and Russia. This statement came amid reports that the transfer of Russian drones, food, and medicine to Iran as part of bilateral cooperation had been completed. So far, official representatives of Russia have not provided further comments on this statement.

Iran has sent an official response to the United States’ proposal, which outlined 15 points for ending the war. Tehran’s response was conveyed to the American side through intermediaries.

As a reminder, the U.S. and Iran may hold talks on ending the war on March 26.
