The President of the World Congress of Ukrainians congratulated Mádár on his victory in the Hungarian elections
Pavlo Grod, President of the World Congress of Ukrainians, congratulated Péter Magyar and the Tisa Party on their victory in the Hungarian elections.
This was reported by the WCU.
The Congress noted that the Hungarians’ choice marked a defeat for Russia’s strategy of destabilization in Europe.
It also highlighted the high voter turnout—about 80%—which demonstrates a desire to protect the country’s sovereignty.
“The slogans ‘Ruszkik haza’—Russians, go home—which rang out on election night, deeply resonate with the feelings of every Ukrainian,” said Pavlo Grod.
The UWC emphasized that Ukraine and Hungary are natural partners and expressed their readiness to cooperate with the new government to restore trust and strengthen European solidarity.
The Congress also expressed hope that Hungary would support Ukraine’s accession to the EU.
As a reminder, according to the results of 98.93% of the votes counted, the “Tisa” party won 69.35% of the vote. This gives the opposition 138 seats in parliament, allowing it to form a constitutional majority on its own.
Trump declined to comment on the defeat of his friend Orbán in the Hungarian elections.
