Pakistan army spokesperson accuses India of staging incident — Dawn
In Pakistan, Director General of the Inter-Services Public Relations of the Armed Forces (ISPR), Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, accused India’s military-political leadership of staging a so-called terrorist incident. As Dawn reports, he made the statement during a media briefing.
Reports by Indian media
The briefing took place after Indian media reports about the death of a man wanted in connection with an attack on tourists in Pahalgam on April 22, 2025. According to those reports, he was killed during an operation in the Korag area of Kashmir.
Indian media claimed that the deceased was Mohammad Asif, also known as Hashim Musa. The ANI agency said he was linked to the banned Lashkar-e-Taiba group and allegedly had previously served in the Pakistani army.

According to ANI, Asif joined the Pakistan Army in 2000, and in 2005 he was inducted into the Special Services Group. The agency also stated that he was part of the security detail for former Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf. India’s Chinar Corps repeated the claim that Asif was wanted in the Pahalgam attack case.
Statement by the Pakistani spokesperson
Chaudhry said he would speak about the so-called terrorist incident and the false-flag operation that, according to him, was organized by India’s military-political leadership. He also noted that on September 29, the Chinar Corps reported the neutralization of a “terrorist.”
After the attack in Pahalgam, New Delhi linked the attack to Pakistan. Islamabad denied involvement and called for a neutral investigation. In May 2025, a four-day conflict occurred between India and Pakistan, ending in a ceasefire on May 10.
