Russia is supplying Iran with explosives and drone components via the Caspian Sea — NBC News
Russia has begun supplying Iran with explosives, ammunition, and drone components, helping Tehran rebuild its military arsenal following strikes by the U.S. and Israel.
According to sources, military cargo is being transported to Iran via the Caspian Sea. This route allows Moscow and Tehran to avoid interception by Western nations, as U.S. and other countries’ military ships do not maintain a permanent presence in the Caspian Sea.
Specifically, the shipments include TNT, ammunition, and drone components. The deliveries are intended to help Tehran replenish its weapons stockpiles, which have been depleted as a result of recent hostilities.
An attempt to disrupt this route was made in late March, when Israel struck the Bandar-Anzali port complex on the Caspian Sea coast. According to Israeli sources, the facility was being used to transit Russian weapons. However, following the attack, shipments reportedly resumed, according to media reports.
