Moscow has stepped up pressure on Seoul over possible arms supplies to Ukraine.
This was reported by Yonhap.
Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrei Rudenko stated that bilateral relations would “suffer seriously” if South Korea decides to transfer lethal weapons.
The Kremlin calls any participation by Seoul in supplying weapons to Ukraine, particularly within the framework of the PURL initiative, “unacceptable.”
Moscow is also hinting at possible economic and political retaliatory measures.
South Korea has significant stockpiles of weapons, including 155mm artillery shells and modern armored vehicles, which are crucial for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Officially, Seoul is still adhering to a policy of non-intervention, but is considering options for assistance amid Russia’s rapprochement with North Korea.
As a reminder, South Korea has completed the deployment of satellites to monitor North Korea.
Russia may also have assisted North Korea with a nuclear submarine.
