Russia has threatened Britain with nuclear weapons in the event of a blockade of Kaliningrad

Russia has threatened Britain with nuclear weapons in the event of a blockade of Kaliningrad

Russia has threatened the United Kingdom and NATO countries with the use of nuclear weapons in the event of military action against the Kaliningrad region. The Russian Embassy in London stated that Moscow would allegedly respond to a possible blockade of the region “with all available means.”

The Russian Embassy said it had taken note of an article in the British publication *The i Paper*, which, among other things, discussed the possibility of a NATO blockade of Kaliningrad or the “non-recognition of Russian sovereignty” over the region.

Russian diplomats also mentioned a related report by Sky News.

“Those who advocate plans to blockade Kaliningrad or strike it should have no illusions about the consequences,” the Russian Embassy stated.

The Russian Embassy in London emphasized that any military action by the United Kingdom or NATO against Russian territory would, according to Moscow, be met with a response using all means available to Russia.

At the same time, Russian diplomats explicitly stated that such measures could include nuclear weapons.

At the same time, the Russian Embassy asserts that Moscow allegedly does not seek confrontation with NATO and European countries and has no intention of attacking them.

“Those who decide to provoke such a conflict should make no mistake that Russia will respond accordingly,” the Russian embassy’s statement reads.

Thus, the Russian side has publicly linked possible military actions around Kaliningrad to the threat of using nuclear weapons, while at the same time declaring its unwillingness to engage in direct confrontation with NATO.

This is stated in a statement from the Russian diplomatic mission.

NATO countries have developed a “Concept of Land Warfare” in the event of a possible Russian attack on the Baltic states, according to Bild. The plan calls for halting the advance of Russian troops, weakening their military capabilities, and pushing them back to the state border.

On August 18, NATO conducted large-scale air maneuvers near Russia’s Kaliningrad Oblast. Approximately 25 aircraft from various NATO member states took part in the flights, which originated from Poland and the Baltic states.
