Rosneft's annual profit fell by nearly 73% — Reuters

Russia's largest oil company, Rosneft, reported a sharp drop in net profit for 2025.

This was reported by Reuters.

Net profit amounted to 293 billion rubles (about $3.6 billion), which is nearly 73% less than a year earlier.

Company CEO Igor Sechin called the situation a “perfect storm” due to a combination of internal and external factors.

Among the reasons for the decline are high interest rates, rising taxes, and a sharp increase in logistics costs amid sanctions.

Despite this, global oil prices are rising—the Russian Urals grade has surpassed $120 per barrel.

However, high prices do not offset the costs and financial pressure on the company.

As a reminder, on the night of March 26, units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces struck the Kirishi Oil Refinery in the city of Kirishi, Leningrad region, Russia.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine successfully struck a strategically important facility of the Russian Federation’s fuel and energy infrastructure. The target was the Bashneft-Ufaneftekhim oil refinery, located in the city of Ufa, approximately 1,400 kilometers from Ukraine’s state border.
