European intelligence services warn of possible intensification of Russian operations against NATO — Anadolu Agency
Heads of European intelligence services have warned that Russia, the aggressor state, may intensify operations against NATO countries in the coming months. These include sabotage, drone attacks and limited incursions, Anadolu Agency reports, citing The Guardian.
Czech intelligence assessment
The head of the Czech Security Information Service, Michal Koudelka, said that possible scenarios include a small incursion into NATO territory, false-flag operations and large-scale influence campaigns. According to him, such an escalation could occur “in months, not years.” At the same time, Koudelka noted that work is underway to prevent such actions.
Positions of Latvia and Sweden
The head of Latvia’s State Security Service, Normunds Mežviets, said there are no signs of an imminent attack. He added that Moscow appears to be preparing for more decisive action in Europe, but it is unclear whether this involves specific military plans or an attempt to spread fear and instability.

According to Mežviets, Russian operations are increasingly targeting railway networks, infrastructure supporting Ukraine and defense industry facilities. The head of Swedish military intelligence, Thomas Nilsson, predicts an increase in Russian sabotage. He called the recent incident involving an armed drone at Leipzig Airport in Germany a turning point.
Nilsson warned that attacks resulting in casualties or serious damage to critical infrastructure would constitute a significant escalation. Intelligence officials believe these actions may be aimed at weakening European support for Ukraine, creating divisions within NATO and intimidating the public. Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov had previously dismissed claims that Russia intends to attack the Alliance, saying such assumptions are unrelated to Moscow’s plans.
