Another member of the British government has resigned amid pressure on Starmer

On Tuesday, May 12, another junior member of the British government resigned and called on Prime Minister Keir Starmer to step down as leader of the Labour Party. The decision came after the party suffered electoral losses in last week’s elections.

She wrote about this on social media.

Internal political tensions continue within the British government and the Labour Party amid the election results and discussions regarding future leadership.

Deputy Minister for Housing and Local Communities Miatta Fanbulle resigned from the government on Tuesday, May 12.

"I urge the Prime Minister to do the right thing in the interests of the country and the party and to set a timetable for an orderly transition," she said.

Talk of ousting Starmer has intensified within the Labour Party after the party lost hundreds of seats in elections to England’s councils and the parliaments of Scotland and Wales.

However, Starmer stated that he does not plan to resignas party leader, according to Bloomberg.
