SpaceX has postponed the 13th Starship test flight for the second time
SpaceX has postponed the 13th test launch of the Starship rocket for the second time. This time, the launch, scheduled for July 24, was canceled due to unfavorable weather conditions. A new launch attempt has been scheduled for July 25 at 1:45 a.m. Kyiv time.
The previous launch attempt, which was supposed to take place on July 17, was canceled at the last minute due to problems with the rocket’s first-stage engines.
During its 13th test flight, Starship is set to deploy 20 next-generation Starlink satellites into orbit. This mission is crucial for SpaceX, as the company plans to test the rocket’s key systems and the reusability of its main components after launch.
At 122 meters tall, Starship is the largest and most powerful rocket in the world. It is capable of delivering up to 110 metric tons of payload into orbit, and its design is intended for reusable flight.
The rocket is also a key element of NASA’s Artemis lunar program. The Starship upper stage is planned to be used as a lunar lander during the Artemis III mission, and as part of Artemis IV, it is set to transport astronauts to the Moon’s surface.
The 13th flight will be the second test of the Starship V3 version. During the first launch in May 2026, the upper stage successfully placed Starlink satellites into orbit and splashed down in the Indian Ocean, while the lower stage failed to land and crashed in the Gulf of Mexico.
