The U.S. has confirmed the deaths of two service members following Iran's attacks

The United States has confirmed the deaths of two American service members following Iranian strikes on a military facility in Jordan. Another service member is listed as missing.

According to U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), the attack occurred on July 17, as U.S. and allied forces were repelling strikes by Iranian ballistic missiles and drones.

The identities of the deceased have not yet been released—their names will be published after their families have been notified. In addition, four other U.S. service members were briefly hospitalized.

U.S. President Donald Trump, commenting on the incident, said he was “deeply saddened” by the deaths of the service members.

This is the first officially confirmed case of U.S. military personnel killed in the war with Iran since March 2026.
